WOW!!! Man talk about exploring some out there stuff. I was blown away by this book with not only the Deep and dark carnal stuff, but the pace and action that continued from start to finish. The homage or what ever you wish to call it of Doc Savage and Tarzan was strong, but man it definitely is not your dad's version. This is a must read folks, really great book!!

This was another great read by the bizarro mastermind Carlton Mellick III. This time around we are introduced to a new society where only the good of the children matter. Imagine being a single man not allowed to go out during school hours for fear of you. This is the new world that our protagonist is set in, he is an established editor that has a unique appetite for sex. This appetite takes him to a place where he never even knew existed but is only a few miles from where he has been living. He gets introduced to a different form of people who have their own unique birthing rituals. One of these includes the father to be ingested by the pregnant mate in order to get nutrients to the babies. This leads to some very weird and unsettling situations for our friend. As always I loved how CM3 ended the book and makes you think about certain choices one might make. Another highly recommended book.

This is a collection of erotic short stories written by women for women. It's a great collection. I've read several of Violet Blue's anthologies, and they are consistently good, but Best Women's Erotica 2009 is *really good*.

It features 21 stories, each by a different author. Most of the stories have a female main character and/or narrator, common in "by women for women" erotica. But beyond that, the collection is full of variety, featuring many different scenarios, orientations, sex acts, writing styles - something for everyone, I guess one could say. But I wouldn't, because I found almost every one of the stories to be exciting and erotic in its own way, regardless of my own personal preferences.

When I first read it, I mostly appreciated the quality of the writing. Violet Blue selected particularly well-written, evocative stories. The erotic impact didn't strike me until later, weeks later, when I found myself opening it up again, with a craving to reread the...

This is a collection where trans lovers can feel intimately and comfortably at home amidst stories of being treasured, loved, desired, and adored.

Considering the wide variety of authors, genders, and subjects explored, I'm pleased to say there's not a single story here that didn't, on some level, resonate with me. Indeed, they are all wonderful, but there were certainly some stand-outs...

Doms with way too much anger
What I liked: well written story with mostly interesting characters.

What I didn't like: The anger in the Dom.

I've read two of this authors stories so far and both show a 'broken' dom and a 'broken' sub. His need to dominate comes from a well of anger and her need to submit comes from a place of, I dont know, insecurity? In both of the books of Annabel Joseph's that I've read, the Dom and the sub need some serious time on a psychiatrists couch.

The Dom/sub relationship is supposed to be based on trust. The strength of a sub is in her ability to give over control to her Dom. The strength of a Dom is his ability to take into his possession that control and keep his sub safe.

Annabel Joseph's Dom/sub relationships have no basis in the beauty of that kind of trust and it never develops. Its abuse, pure and simple.

And in no way would I call her books romantic....I kept hoping that at some point the Dom's would redeem themselves but...
