4 1/2 stars - really steamy and really super read
This is my first book by Sarah McCarty and it won't be my last. I'd heard really good things about her books and finally decided to give her a try. The uninitiated should understand that this is an erotic romance (which seemed to be a problem for some reviewers) so explicit language and sex are to be expected. But there's also a wonderful alpha hero and a nice supporting storyline to go along. I'm not a big reader of western romances but I really enjoyed this one set in 1868 Wyoming Territory.

I really love this series that Ms. Glenn is putting out each character is different none of the stories are the same each one goes through there own trail and tribulation that keeps you wanting more and wanting the rest of the characters that don't have a story yet to have one. I have to agree with Sparta's review. What I liked best was that you really go on the emotional journey with this woman. Yeah it is hot but I have yet to read other erotic fiction that could grab me and take me on such roller coaster ride. Definitely worth reading. There are some editorially issues that I hope get cleaned up. I still would give it more stars if I could.

sexy stories good enough to reread
This is a collection of erotic short stories written by women for women. It's a great collection. I've read several of Violet Blue's anthologies, and they are consistently good, but Best Women's Erotica 2009 is *really good*.
It features 21 stories, each by a different author. Most of the stories have a female main character and/or narrator, common in "by women for women" erotica. But beyond that, the collection is full of variety, featuring many different scenarios, orientations, sex acts, writing styles - something for everyone, I guess one could say. But I wouldn't, because I found almost every one of the stories to be exciting and erotic in its own way, regardless of my own personal preferences.
When I first read it, I mostly appreciated the quality of the writing. Violet Blue selected particularly well-written, evocative stories. The erotic impact didn't strike me until later, weeks later, when I found myself opening it up again, with a craving to reread the...

Doms with way too much anger
What I liked: well written story with mostly interesting characters.
What I didn't like: The anger in the Dom.
I've read two of this authors stories so far and both show a 'broken' dom and a 'broken' sub. His need to dominate comes from a well of anger and her need to submit comes from a place of, I dont know, insecurity? In both of the books of Annabel Joseph's that I've read, the Dom and the sub need some serious time on a psychiatrists couch.
The Dom/sub relationship is supposed to be based on trust. The strength of a sub is in her ability to give over control to her Dom. The strength of a Dom is his ability to take into his possession that control and keep his sub safe.
Annabel Joseph's Dom/sub relationships have no basis in the beauty of that kind of trust and it never develops. Its abuse, pure and simple.
And in no way would I call her books romantic....I kept hoping that at some point the Dom's would redeem themselves but...

If you read 'Foxe Tail' , then you already knew that Skyler Foxe is the ultimate amatuer sleuth bordering on OCD in regard to finding out the real facts. So. This book is so dirty and awesome, I can't even write about it on Amazon. Oh yes, my review has been rejected three times. If that appeals to you, buy this book and read it cover to cover. All the stories are amazing. So amazing, I can't even quote them here, because apparently that will also get me rejected. But trust me, the authors that write here are amazing and Mr. Sinclair I-Don't-Think-I-Can-Write-Their-Last-Name did a wonderful job selecting a wide range of characters, authors, and scenarios. They are like King Midas: Everything they touch turns to gold.
I will also tell you that these pieces don't all fall into my standard definition of what we would normally call B, followed by the letters D, S, and finally M (apparently I can't write that down either, we'll see how this version goes.) So even if you wouldn't normally enjoy things pertaining to that acronym, get the book anyway. You won't regret it.
